Rameses The GreatPosted by alexdpx (Manila, Philippines) on 14 February 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. Memphis, Egypt Believed to be the Pharaoh confronted by Moses in the book of Exodus, Old Testament, The Holy Bible, Rameses II (or The Great) fitted the description and has lived at around the same time. Considered the greatest of the Egyptian Pharaohs, I managed to meet him face to face (literally) in the Mummy Room of the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities in Cairo. This colossus sculpted from limestone is in Memphis, the capital of the Old Kingdom. It was discovered in the same location where it is now with a museum built around it.
